Arenas Escapes Jail Time

According to the Associated Press, Washington Wizards All-Star guard Gilbert Arenas was sentenced to 30 days in a halfway house and two years of probation today because of a locker room incident with his Wizards teammate Javaris Crittenton. Arenas and Crittenton were both suspended for the rest of the NBA season by commissioner David Stern for bringing guns into the Wizards locker room.

Arenas pleaded guilty to violating Washington DC’s gun law back on December 21st. Arenas is also required to donate $5000 to a fund for victims of violent crimes and do 400 hours of community service.
